What makes the Connect ZBT-2 unique?
- Unprecedented range thanks to the external antenna: Where the old ZBT-1 (SkyConnect) had a small internal antenna, the ZBT-2 features a large external antenna (+4.16 dBi) with a "ground plane" at its base. This makes the adapter much more sensitive to weak signals from sensors located far away or behind thick walls.
- Future-proof Silicon Labs MG24 chip: The modern successor to the MG21 offers significantly more processing power and memory. Combined with a 4x higher communication speed (baud rate of 460,800 bps), your network responds noticeably faster, which you'll particularly notice when switching large groups of devices simultaneously.
- Ready for the future with Thread & Matter: The adapter supports both reliable Zigbee 3.0 and the brand new Thread protocol (for Matter devices). Please note: you can only run one protocol at a time on the dongle.

Does the Connect ZBT-2 work with Home Assistant Green or Yellow?
Yes, the adapter works via USB with almost any Home Assistant installation. Whether you use a Home Assistant Green, Yellow, Raspberry Pi, or your own server with HAOS. Just make sure you are running Home Assistant version 2025.10.1 or newer.
Can I use Zigbee and Thread simultaneously on one adapter?
No, the ZBT-2 supports one protocol at a time for the most stable connection. If you want to set up both a Zigbee network and a Thread network, we recommend using two separate adapters (for example, via a USB hub).
How many devices can I connect directly?
The powerful MG24 chip supports up to 32 direct connections (End Devices such as battery-powered sensors). For larger networks, simply add Zigbee routers (such as smart plugs connected to mains power) to expand your network indefinitely.
What do the LED lights on the base mean?
The status LED provides immediate feedback about your network. A pulsating LED means the adapter is waiting for a connection. If the LED is off, everything is correctly connected. If the LED starts flashing rapidly, the antenna is not mounted completely vertically; place it upright for the best range.
How does firmware updating work?
Completely automatically! As soon as a new update is available for the Zigbee or Thread firmware, Home Assistant will notify you directly in your dashboard. You can update the adapter with a single click, without having to install complex software on a computer.

De Home Assistant connect ZBT-2 doet waarvoor het gemaakt is. Ik heb de antenne ingesteld op thread om al mijn matter producten succesvol eraan te koppelen. Binnenkort ga ik er nog een bestellen voor het koppelen van mijn bestaande zigbee accessoires.

Antenne is snel geleverd, is zoals geadverteerd op de website van Nabu Casa. Gekocht voor Matter over Thread voor Home Assistant. Wordt direct herkend en HAOS vraagt of je de antenne wilt gebruiken voor Zigbee of Matter. Echte aandrader. Had hiervoor een Sonoff MG24 antenne maar die gaf meer configuratie issues dan deze.
