Specially designed for extra storage for a desktop computer. The WD My Book comes with WD Backup software but is also compatible with Mac Time Machine software, which requires reformatting. The software can also be used to schedule when the hard drive will make a backup.
The My Book also features built-in hardware encryption via WD Security software. This allows you to activate password protection and set your own password. Your files are always safe.
It is even possible to connect the WD My Book to various social media and cloud storage services such as Dropbox via the included WD Discovery ™ software.
