The sensors communicate wirelessly with the controller over a range of 100 meters (in open space). The three sensors are pre-paired at the factory – once the controller is paired, all three are immediately operational. The system is expandable with up to 10 sensors , ideal for larger homes, landlords, or homeowners' association (HOA) managers.

What's in the box?

The kit includes a central controller, three IP65-certified sensors (factory pre-paired), a USB Type-C cable (5V), and a manual. Batteries (two AAA batteries per sensor) are not included.

Do I need a hub or Smart Bridge?

No! The KM1 kit works via Matter over Wi-Fi and connects directly to Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa , or Home Assistant . A ThirdReality Smart Bridge MZ1 is not required. A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is required.

Can I add more than 3 sensors?

Yes, the system supports up to 10 sensors . Please note: individual additional sensors are currently only available in limited quantities.

Does the alarm also work without internet?

Yes! The central controller emits a local 100dB alarm when water is detected, even without an internet connection. Push notifications to your smartphone do require an active Wi-Fi connection.

Can I silence the alarm without stopping detection?

Yes, slide the switch on the controller to the right to mute the alarm immediately. Water detection remains active – only the sound is muted.

Are the sensors waterproof?

Yes, the sensors are IP65 certified – resistant to splashing water, high humidity, and temporary immersion. After contact with water, a simple wipe is sufficient.

Can I remove sensors individually from the app?

The three pre-paired sensors cannot be removed individually. You can replace them with new ones via a Deep Factory Reset on the controller.

How long do the batteries last?

Up to 3 years on 2x AAA alkaline batteries per sensor. The app displays the battery level for each sensor. When the battery is low, the LED flashes red every 30 seconds. Note: Batteries are not included.

What is the difference with the Zigbee water leak sensors?

THIRDREALITY also offers Zigbee versions. The Zigbee Water Leak Sensor has a built-in 120dB siren per sensor – ideal if you want a loud alarm at the leak location and already have a Zigbee network. The KM1 kit works hub-free via Matter, has the siren centrally located in the controller, and has a range of 100 meters.

How do I perform firmware updates?

You can perform OTA updates via the 3R Installer app . After the initial installation, check immediately for available updates for optimal performance.
