Tuya Ivy Smart Planter | Interactive WiFi Flower Pot | Works with Home Assistant
The Tuya Ivy Smart Planter is more than just a flowerpot; it's an interactive companion for your plant. With 70+ adorable facial expressions on its tri-color display, Ivy tells you exactly what your plant needs: too little water, insufficient light, or simply a little attention. Built-in sensors measure soil moisture, light, temperature, and humidity, while its self-watering system prevents overwatering or underwatering. Ivy responds to touch and sound, and even has a built-in Pomodoro timer. You can access all data via the Tuya app, and for the true smart home expert, Ivy can be fully integrated with Home Assistant via the Tuya Local integration.
Note: The Ivy Smart Planter operates over Wi-Fi and relies on the Tuya Cloud by default. For local control and advanced automations, integration with Home Assistant via Tuya Local is recommended.
Key Features
Vivid Emotions & Interaction
With over 70 expressions, Ivy communicates your plant's needs. A thirsty face when the plant needs water, a happy face when it has sufficient light. Ivy also responds to touch (three touch points) and sound, making it a vibrant addition to your desk or windowsill.
7-in-1 Sensor System
Ivy is equipped with seven sensors to create the perfect environment for your plants: a soil moisture sensor, light intensity sensor, humidity sensor, temperature sensor, and touch and sound sensors. All data is accessible through the Tuya app or Home Assistant.
Self-watering System
The internal water reservoir ensures your plant automatically absorbs water when it needs it. Refill the reservoir periodically, and Ivy will take care of the rest. This prevents root rot from overwatering and dehydration from forgetting to water.
Home Assistant Integration via Tuya Local
For the smart home expert: Ivy is supported by the Tuya Local integration in Home Assistant. This makes all sensors and settings locally available for advanced automations, without relying on the cloud.
Extras: Pomodoro Timer, Weather & Time
Ivy is also a productivity aid with a built-in Pomodoro timer. Its display can also show the time and local weather, making it a versatile gadget for your workspace or living room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Ivy Smart Planter work with Home Assistant?
Yes, the Ivy Smart Planter is supported by the 'Tuya Local' community integration in Home Assistant. This makes all sensors and settings locally available for advanced automations. Please note that stable operation often requires an active internet connection.
How long does the battery last?
The 2000mAh battery lasts up to 15 days, depending on the amount of interaction, screen brightness, and configured settings. Charging is easy via the included USB-C cable.
Which plants can I put in it?
While the app officially supports over 40 plant species, you can grow virtually any real indoor plant in the Ivy. The sensors and AI algorithm tailor the care to the specific plant's needs.
Do I still have to water the plant myself?
No, you only fill the internal water reservoir. It's not meant to be poured directly onto the potting soil. The plant will absorb water from the reservoir itself when the soil moisture sensor indicates it needs it.
Does the flowerpot also work without WiFi?
Without a Wi-Fi connection, the flowerpot will continue to perform its basic functions (displaying emotions based on sensors). However, you will lose app functionality, remote notifications, and the clock/weather features. Home Assistant integration also requires a network connection.
What do the different facial expressions mean?
Ivy has over 70 expressions. The most important ones relate to basic needs: a thirsty face when she's not drinking enough water, a sunny face when she's bright, a tired face when it's dark (sleep mode), and happy faces when you touch her or when all the conditions are met.
