A window opening, a door being forced, or an object being moved: the Nous E14 registers every vibration and immediately sounds an alarm. The sensor combines vibration and shock detection with a built-in buzzer of over 120 dB, providing an audible alarm on-site and simultaneously sending a notification to Home Assistant. No wiring, no installation: attach the sensor to the desired location and pair it via Zigbee 3.0.

Power and Connectivity

The Nous E14 runs on 2 AAA batteries (included). Communication is via Zigbee 3.0 (IEEE 802.15.4, 2.405–2.480 GHz); the device is a Zigbee EndDevice and requires a Zigbee coordinator, a Tuya Zigbee gateway, or Homey. The range in open space is up to 90 meters.

Detection, Alarm, and Sensitivity

The built-in vibration sensor detects vibrations and shocks on the surface to which it is attached. Upon detection, the E14 activates a built-in buzzer of over 120 dB for 20 seconds as a local alarm and simultaneously sends a Zigbee signal to Home Assistant. Sensitivity can be adjusted directly on the device via button clicks: Low (1 beep), Medium (2 beeps), or High (3 beeps). First, switch to silent mode with a double-click before adjusting sensitivity. All settings can also be managed remotely via the Nous Smart Home app.

Mounting

Home Assistant

The Nous E14 works via Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA, completely locally without cloud. The device is Tuya-compatible and is recognized in both platforms without additional configuration. Local control is confirmed; cloud is not required after pairing.

Pairing procedure via Zigbee2MQTT

• Put Zigbee2MQTT in pairing mode via the interface or the HA dashboard.
• Open the battery compartment, insert the batteries, and hold the button for 5 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly.
• The device will automatically appear as Nous E14 in Zigbee2MQTT.
• In HA, go to Settings > Devices & Services > MQTT; the sensor will appear as a new device.
