DIYANI Zigbee Smart Plug with Power Monitoring – 16A or 20A
Many devices run all day long without you having any idea how much energy they consume. The DIYANI Zigbee Smart Plug changes that: real-time measurement of power, voltage, current, and total energy, directly available in your smart home system. Choose the 16A version for household appliances up to 3680W, or the 20A variant for heavier loads up to 4600W.
Power and Connectivity
The plug operates via Zigbee 3.0 and forms a mesh network with other Zigbee devices. No Wi-Fi interference, no separate hub per plug. This device acts as a Zigbee router (repeater): it amplifies the signal for nearby end devices, making your network more stable in larger homes. Power is supplied via the socket itself (Type F, Schuko, NL/EU standard).
Functionality and Settings
Through a compatible gateway, you have access to all measurement values and control functions:
- Real-time power measurement (W), voltage (V), current (A), and cumulative energy (kWh)
- Remote on/off switch via app, voice, or automation
- Schedules and timers, including sunset and sunrise triggers
- Overvoltage protection and overload detection
- Power outage memory: returns to the last state after a power interruption
The dimensions are compact (55 x 55 x 85 mm), so the adjacent socket remains usable.
Expansion and Accessories
Combine multiple DIYANI plugs for group control per room or circuit. Link them to other smart plugs or sensors within your Zigbee network. For use with Home Assistant without a separate hub, you need a Zigbee USB controller.
Safety and Reliability
Built-in overvoltage protection prevents damage from power surges. Overload detection automatically switches off if the maximum load is exceeded. Do not use the 16A variant for devices above 3680W; in that case, choose the 20A version (4600W max.).
Home Assistant
Pairing is done via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT, both without cloud requirements. The plug functions as a Zigbee Router and thus also contributes to the range of your network.
Pairing Procedure (ZHA / Zigbee2MQTT)
- Plug the device into the socket
- Press and hold the button for 5 seconds until the light flashes quickly (pairing mode)
- In Home Assistant, go to Settings > Devices & Services > your Zigbee integration
- Select "Add device" and wait for detection
- The device will appear as Smart Plug / TS011F or similar
Available Entities After Pairing
- Switch:
switchentity - Power:
sensor.powerentity (W) - Voltage:
sensor.voltageentity (V) - Current:
sensor.currententity (A) - Energy:
sensor.energyentity (kWh)
Local control confirmed. Cloud not required when using via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT.
Homey
Compatible with both Homey Bridge and Homey Pro via the built-in Zigbee app. Pairing is done by adding devices and searching by type. Energy insights are available on both platforms. Note: Homey Bridge requires an active internet connection for Zigbee control and Flows. Homey Pro operates completely locally, even if the internet is down.
Other Platforms
- Tuya Zigbee Hub: full functionality including power metering via the Tuya Smart app
- SmartThings: basic on/off and power metering; voltage and current not always available
- Google Home and Amazon Alexa: voice control via Tuya integration or other supported gateway
- Hubitat: Zigbee pairing with control and metering
- Domoticz: via Domoticz-Zigbee plugin
- Fibaro Home Center 3: via Zigbee gateway, full power metering available
- Philips Hue Bridge: basic control only, no energy data
Automation Examples
Example 1 – Washing Machine Done Notification
- Trigger:
sensor.powerentity drops below 5W - Condition:
sensor.energyentity for today is greater than 0.1 kWh - Action: Send push notification "Washing machine finished"
Example 2 – Night Savings Automation
- Trigger: Time = 23:00
- Condition:
sensor.powerentity is greater than 10W - Action 1: Turn off plug
- Action 2: Send push notification "Standby device turned off, savings active"
- Optional: Log energy value to an input_number for a weekly report
Points of Attention
- The 16A variant is not suitable for devices above 3680W; use the 20A version (4600W max.) in that case
- A compatible Zigbee gateway is required; the plug does not work standalone
- Zigbee2MQTT requires a separate Zigbee USB controller
- The Tuya app only works in combination with a Tuya Zigbee Hub

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pair this plug with Home Assistant?
Press and hold the button for 5 seconds until the light flashes quickly. Then, in Home Assistant, go to Settings, Devices & Services, and open your Zigbee integration (ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT). Select "Add device" and the device will be found automatically. You will need a Zigbee USB controller or a compatible Zigbee gateway for this.
Do I need a hub?
Yes, the plug does not work standalone. For Home Assistant, use a Zigbee USB controller. For Tuya, you need a Tuya Zigbee Hub. Homey Bridge and Homey Pro have built-in Zigbee support and work without additional hardware.
Does this plug work with Homey Bridge or only with Homey Pro?
The plug works with both. Homey Bridge has built-in Zigbee support and supports up to 15 direct devices, with a total network of 30-40 devices via Zigbee routers like this plug. Homey Bridge does require an active internet connection; if the internet goes down, Flows stop and Zigbee control no longer works. Homey Pro runs completely locally and continues to function even without internet. Energy insights are available on both platforms.
What is the difference between the 16A and 20A version?
The 16A version supports devices up to 3680W and is suitable for most household applications. The 20A version goes up to 4600W and is intended for heavier loads such as powerful heating devices. The functionality, Zigbee protocol, and available entities are identical for both versions.
Does this plug also work as a Zigbee repeater?
Yes. The plug is a Zigbee Router (not an end device) and automatically amplifies the signal for other nearby Zigbee devices. This is an advantage over battery-powered sensors, which do not extend the network. More about building a stable network can be found with our smart plugs.
What measurement values are available via Home Assistant?
After pairing via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT, the following entities are available: switch (on/off), power in W, voltage in V, current in A, and cumulative energy in kWh. You can use these values in dashboards, automations, and energy management within Home Assistant.
Is an app required?
That depends on your gateway. When used via Home Assistant, you don't need an external app; everything works locally. For Tuya, you use the Tuya Smart app. For Homey Bridge or Homey Pro, you manage the device via the Homey app. There is no mandatory DIYANI app.
✅ slimhuisje.nl delivers both variants directly from stock. Choose the 16A version for daily appliances or the 20A for heavier loads, and take the first step towards full insight into your energy consumption.
