The Zooz ZAC38 strengthens and stabilizes the Z-Wave mesh network in challenging areas such as thick walls or longer distances. Thanks to the 800 series Z-Wave chip, it offers faster communication, S2/SmartStart, OTA updates, and a compact size that frees up the second wall socket. Unique to the ZAC38 is the built-in battery backup: in the event of a power outage, the device automatically switches to battery power, sends an "AC main disconnected" message to the hub, and switches back as soon as mains power returns. The EU version operates on 230 V/50 Hz and is intended for indoor use.
